South Beach, Miami Beach, Florida, is a 23-block section of the island. In the 1900s, this was the first section developed by John Collins, Henry and Charles Lummus and Carl. G. Fisher. It has been the site of the many ups and downs of Miami Beach, but is most memorable for its architecture.
South Beach, Florida, is famous for its Art Deco movement. The area features the three different styles: traditional, Streamline Moderne and Mediterranean Revival. The nighttime scene in South Beach is vibrant, always transforming itself into something new, retro or different. Some clubs last a year before changing their name or persona, altering their décor. Turnover is high for owners and clientele alike. Yet, the nightlife of South Beach continues to thrive.
