Little Palm Island

Little Palm Island is a luxurious island resort located three-miles off shore in the Lower Keys of Florida, just offshore from Little Torch Key. Now a resort, Little Palm Island, Florida, was once the private fishing retreat of American President Harry Truman. Since these glory days, the island has continued to draw a toney crowd including Al Gore, Ivana Trump and het late great president, John F. Kennedy.

The creators of Little Palm Island Resort wanted to create a South Seas type of atmosphere. The buildings, all 28 of them, are thatched roofed cottages, all with ocean views. They are one-bedroom units complete with slate-tile baths, mosquito netting draped king-size beds and British colonial style furniture. Each has their own private veranda, and a indoor and outdoor shower. Although the Palm Island Resort and Spa caters to every tourist’s fanciful whim, it does not have internet or television or even phone connections in the rooms. Palm Island is a place to escape the outer world and focus on you and your relationship with yourself or your better half. To help their guests achieve this goal, the resort doe not permit children under 16 to stay.

Little Palm Island comments on this lack of technology and youth vary. Some people love the solitude. They like to be pampered by the sauna, steam room and massage facilities.
