Holiday Isle

Holiday Isle is located in the Upper Florida Keys. Tourists sometimes say the place has a Caribbean feel. Its tropical climate murmurs more of Havana than of Miami. Although Spring Break revelers are no longer welcome in Fort Lauderdale, they come streaming into Holiday Isle. During the months of March and April, Holiday Isle is one of the biggest party places in Florida.

The attractions are many and varied, although typical of Florida. Along Duval Street is a string of bars and nightclubs, lined up to host the boisterous and enthusiastic students and oversee such events as drinking competitions and bikini contests. Students can drink and dine at the Tiki bar or Floaters Pool Bar.

Another point of interest is the beach, referred to as the Sandbar. This Holiday Isle beach is accessible and popular for its various attractions. You can swim in the crystal-clear waters, sail across the deep waters and anchor your small boat or pull up your canoe on shore. There are jet skis, canoes, wave runners and parasails. You can snorkel or scuba dive. Playing Frisbee is a common pastime on the sandbar. Alternatively, you can simply lie on the sand and soak up a few of the sun’s rays.

If you wish to, you can rent a boat at Robbie’s Marina or Holiday Isle Boat Rentals. You can get your gear from Holiday Isle Dive shop. You can also dine at the Hungry Tarpon restaurant or attend Theater of the Sea and introduce yourself to a dolphin, stingray or sea lion. Take part in the weekend event -Florida Key’s Family Fest in May or the 10-day orgy known as October’s Fantasy Fest. Fantasy Fest features, among other things, a large parade and nude body painting.

Holiday Isles is not always ruled by students. Other vacationers arrive and spend time there when the Spring Break is over. Holiday Isle attracts a gay crowd during the other months of the year. Families also come to the Isle. You can arrange to stay at any of the Holiday Isle beach resorts or hotels. While other hotels, motels and inns exist, the most renowned Holiday Isle beach resort is the Holiday Isle Beach Resort. Others include the Hampton Inn and Suites and the Days Inn and Suites in the small village of Islamorada.

Holiday Isle also boasts other types of accommodation. Beside a Holiday Isle Resort, you can stay at oceanfront cottages, homes or apartments. You can also try to rent one of many Holiday Isle condos. For further information contact a local realtor or visit the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce.
